The earliest human beings used stories to convey important information since the dawn of time. From where to get the best fruit, to areas to avoid, humans tell stories and our brains evolved to remember them.
Sharing stories to sell is a powerful way to connect with customers, and our brains are hardwired to remember stories, the messages, the warnings and share them
But storytelling by itself is not enough Perhaps you already tell some stories on your website, in your emails and in your status updates.
But you’re missing that elusive something.
it’s not your fault.
Not all business coaches know about story selling in your sales process, and if they know they feel can’t teach what they consider to be their “secret” sauce
Here’s my experience of storyselling... I was raising funds for my German Shepherd’s rehab. I didn’t want to organise a GoFundMe page, it’s just not who I am. I wanted to sell a course that would transform businesses, but I didn’t want to do it in a desperate guilt-ridden way. I struggled until I hit upon using story. And not just any story, but story selling.
Stories can be remembered in a way that doesn’t have to be all tell and no show. In fact, story selling is perfect for business owners who are allergic to selling.
You can do it in such a way that it’s an experience for your audience but not something that makes you want to claw your own skin off.
And as I was experiencing these epiphanies, our email subscribers were coming back and asking us
“How do you do this?”
“How do we do this story thing in our marketing”
“How do you know what story to use and when”
“Where do you get your marketing stories from?”
And 27 days in, we’d raised enough money for our German Shepherd’s rehab, but we had another problem… We were being asked to teach this method of communication with you, our subscribers...
"What I really like about working with Kevin is his deep understanding of not just marketing a business, but how to actually run a business successfully. This knowledge has helped me to make considered decisions about what I need to do in order to prevent myself from wasting a lot of time and money. I especially value Kevin's honest approach to giving advice, which has always been spot on even if it is not always what I would like to hear. If you are looking for someone to tell you what you want to hear about marketing and business, then go elsewhere. If you want to know exactly what you need to do to be successful then speak to Kevin. His knowledge and experience is vast!"
